Ezra 8:22

For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way:

because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.

So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us.

Ezra was ashamed. Why? Because he asked the king for an army to guard and protect him from the enemy. This ashamed him because he had told the king how wonderful, and mighty, and powerful our God is. This sort of sent a mixed message didn’t it???? Thus Ezra and his men stopped everything and fasted....."at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us,....." Ezra 8:21. Ezra wanted to right the wrong he had done and totally depend on God.

For I am ashamed. I let a few lymes disease and shingles world wide internet web sites send me into a tail spin of depression, discouragement, and defeat.

Because for years I have verbally proclaimed the goodness, might, power, and sovereignty of God. During the past 'sick' weeks I have collected some amazingly powerful, comforting verses.

So I am rereading my verses, trusting the truth, grabbing back my joy that I just about threw off the roof, and doing what the doctor and my husband have prescribed for ME.

I knew there was a reason I was led to name my horse Ezra.

I knew there was a reason I learn so much from this book.

I knew there was a reason I marked these verse years ago.

Yep, HE still loves me bestest.
